As for me, I would have to stand by my opinion as well. I have seen Marti Pellow as the Arbiter in Chess at the Royal Albert Hall and I think he was quite good there but Jekyll and Hyde just didn't suit him. I do value your opinions and appreciate the time you took to read my blog and shre them on here and hope to discuss with you more about other performances in the future.janephobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826550775135493944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-19114071954571872542012-02-09T21:57:08.914+00:002012-02-09T21:57:08.914+00:00I apologise for my slight over reaction in the onl...I apologise for my slight over reaction in the only comment on here. (the anonymous one). I have since seen the show, more or less, again on youtube and I have to say I stand by what I said. I do however agree that compared to other performances, it was not brilliant. As an independent performance by a singer, it was well done. But, I now agree, not as a Jekyll and Hyde performance.zobohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00802763814162436073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-53031455814976836352012-01-17T11:24:00.931+00:002012-01-17T11:24:00.931+00:00Great review of a truly amazing musical. I was raging when I noticed the changed 'How I got the calling' to 'It's good to be a nun'. How I got the calling was one of my favourites from the whole musical and I didn't think 'It's good to be a nun' was nearly as good. Do you know why they changed it?Tara91https://www.blogger.com/profile/15377215627463794107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-66599854684600662072011-11-27T23:10:28.791+00:002011-11-27T23:10:28.791+00:00Thanks for reading my blog and I guess that was ju...Thanks for reading my blog and I guess that was just how I felt about the show. I didn't think that Leon Lopez and Jenny Douglas were horrible, just not up to what I had in mind. I agree with you that the effects in this production was really good, esp. for a touring production. Still, I felt that the ending was just way too easy after all the plots they have tried to put together. Overall, I still enjoyed the show a lot but just not one of my favorites, i guess.janephobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826550775135493944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-45528870915898828942011-11-27T13:47:30.722+00:002011-11-27T13:47:30.722+00:00I saw this play on Wednesday, and I think that you...I saw this play on Wednesday, and I think that your comments are a little harsh- I thought that Jenny Douglas did a great job a meat- also me and my friends found Leon Lopez to be very entertaining. I haven't seen a touring musical with such good affects. Also i do not understand what you mean when you said that the plot was abandoned at the end because it wasn't they tied in the title song perfectly relative to the story line. Overall I thought the production was excellent and I urge people to go and see it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-4659221101457268212011-11-27T04:30:46.056+00:002011-11-27T04:30:46.056+00:00Oh, hi!! 555+ What a coincident! I'm a self-confessed Jekyll and Hyde fanatic and, although I've seen better, I was impressed by the amount of effort put into the making of the show. I was slightly disappointed with this version of "confrontation" and a few other things but I thoroughly enjoyed most of the songs and the way they were sung. Before going to see the show, I'd never really heard of Marti Pellow and never even gave it a moments thought when I knew he would play J&H, but I didn't expect much from him. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of his performance. So much so, that I forgave the odd flat or off note and the occasional bit of 'prancing round the stage' as you put it. Jesus Christ! What is the problem?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-68506592503770949762011-04-25T02:18:43.600+01:002011-04-25T02:18:43.600+01:00Chicago

I applaud what was done well and comment on what was not. As a member and supporter of musical theatres, I highly value constructive criticism. I won't compliment things that don't deserve a compliment and I didn't say that I didn't enjoy the show but the show itself wasn't perfect and trust me, there are much worse review of the production out there. Isn't it better if we could provide constructive feedback for the development of the show or its future productions?janephobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826550775135493944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481854781313891749.post-76491023931760320082011-03-27T16:03:33.666+01:002011-03-27T16:03:33.666+01:00I attended the Grand Theatre on Thursday 24th Marc...I attended the Grand Theatre on Thursday 24th March to see 'JOSEPH' with my daugther and mother.
